The Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is a historical museum known throughout the world.
The Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was created at the beginning of the 20th century; more precisely, the exhibition of 1919 in Moscow can be considered the first prerequisites.
In 1919 in the Soviet Union the firstexhibition of military direction, dedicated to the Red Army. The exhibition was attended by V. Lenin, who later gave an indication that it was necessary to create a museum-exhibition dedicated to the life and development of the army, which the whole country should be proud of.
In 1921, the museum exhibition was transformed into a museum,which was located on Vozdvizhenka, 6 until 1928. The brightest event of that period is the exhibition dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Red Army, which was visited by more than 100 thousand people who came both in groups and one by one.
In 1924, the museum was given the nameCentral, since 1951, it became known as the Museum of the Soviet Army, and later in 1965 the army became known as the Armed Forces, as a result of which the name that existed before the collapse of the USSR changed again. Already in 1993, a new name was formed - the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
In 1965, a new building was built especially for him, where it is located to this day.
The Central Museum of the Armed Forces of Russia offers to get acquainted with the expositions that can be divided into 2 parts: one of them is presented in the halls, the other is in the open air.
The building has 24 halls with an area of more than 5000 m², where more than 15 thousand exhibits belonging to different eras are represented: photographs, personal belongings of the military, documents, orders, weapons.
All materials are located in chronologicalorder to make it easier for visitors to navigate. It all begins with the history of the creation and development of the army and navy before the revolution of 1917 (in the Soviet period these materials were not presented, since they did not take into account pre-revolutionary Russia). Next are the halls, telling about the army and troops during the Civil War, during the Second World War. Then follow the halls about the post-war period, when the situation in the country was very difficult, but there always had to be weapons, and finally, halls about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
Outdoor exposition is a technique anda weapon that was once used in Russian troops, some of them are obsolete in technical terms, some have become unusable, and all this can be seen with my own eyes. There is:

In addition to the clothing stock, there is also a photofund, wherecollected more than 100 thousand photographs. They depict heroes, generals, marshals, designers and engineers of military equipment. Some of the pictures are amateur ones, people who have made a great contribution to military development are captured in an informal setting.
